I dunno what the problem is really, i remember beating him with relavitve ease in repvious versions but in this version he is just insane! he keeps freezing my party members and putting them into dazes rendering me completely helpless, on top of that he has an insane amount of hp. all my chracters are lvl 45, I thought i was overleveled, apparently not.

Aegir has a large amount of HP since you get to exploit a major weakness: Thunder. Use the best Thunder spell Vetu has, spark, lightning, or electrocute. Glen should be using Thunder Slash. Justice can either attack, use his best skill, or help out healing with items. He can really make a difference using Remedies to remove conditions like frozen immediately. Meredith will be busy casting healing spells most of the time. When she gets a spare turn, first think about either casting Ice or Water Shell if you have those skills to reduce or absorb damage from many of Aegir's attacks. Using a free turn with her to cast Osmose is also a good idea. I can't remember if Aegir still casts Fast on himself. If he does, then countering that with Slow should be Meredith's first priority. There is also some equipment that can help you in this battle. First is the Blue Beret. There may only be one in Tenebrosus Specus. I can't remember if it's in a red battle chest, or one of Dokkalfar's treasure rewards. I don't think you can buy them at the Alveus store yet, but it's worth a look. The Blue Beret helps against either Water or Ice or both, I can't remember. One layer of elemental protection halves damage, but if you stack on top of that an Ice Shell or Water Shell, you will be healed (absorb) the damage from those types of attacks. Aegir uses almost exclusively Ice and Water attacks, so this can really help. In addition I think there are some items for sale at Alveus that prevent Daze, the Zen Bracelet maybe. I think I changed it from preventing Mindblow, but I'm not sure, maybe it does both, have a look. Don't forget your Water Ring or Aqua Shields from the Water Caverns earlier in the game if you still have them. The Serpent Mail from Internus Vorago also protects against Water I think. As for Frozen and Daze, just bring plenty fo Remedies and deal with Frozen immediately with your characters who would normally attack if you have to. Daze isn't as serious, but you probably want to use a potion to remove it from another hero if you're down to just 1-2 able to act currently.

I beat him yesterday. I had a difficult time with him too.
Just to clarify for others: Aegir does cast Fast. The Blue Beret protects against Frozen. It's in a red battle chest, and you can't buy it at Alveus at this point in the game. I couldn't find anything in Alveus that protected against Daze. I had bought Zen bracelets a couple of towns ago and equipped my characters with them for the battle, but they didn't protect against Daze. Serpent Mail protects against Poison and Water.

I'll like to give a hint to this battle, I found out by accident that it's actually easier to get through it if you only have three people (and just leave one dead) - because ONE of them will always NOT be well enough equipped for the battle and that one uses up a lot of resources if you keep raising him again - and I'm around Lvl 42 at this point. Had a hard time with him too
