There doesn't exist any guide or walkthrough for Everlong that I know of, but I would be happy to answer any questions you have here on the forums or via email.

One player offerred to write a walkthrough for Everlong but I guess he never got around to it. The game is also always changing which makes it easy for a guide to become obsolete pretty quick.
I don't have time myself to make one (it would be extremely long) and I'm preoccuppied with finding a new host for Everlong at the moment and a new batch of revisions. My advice is simply to collect all the secret books, read them, and explore if you want discover all the hidden stuff.

There are plenty of people who have finished the game, as in they have reached the plot's end and defeated the final enemy. Nearly every secret is revealed by the green books you can collect throughout the world. It is not difficult to acquire them either, since the Display Finder pops up an icon whenever you enter a location where one is hidden. Once you have the Aetherius (airship) you can search the entire world very quickly. Don't worry too much about missing out on something; chances are you didn't or are not yet ready to go exploring for it anyways.

How do I read the green books? I'm at the beginning of the game, found a book in the Water Tower and Herbtown, but they don't show up in my Item list (great game btw).
