The Pumice Piece on Triangle Mountain (the dungeon above the Valiantide Base on Triangle Island) is not on the main path. Start by reaching the large outside room where the path splits in 4 different ways. There will be 1) a cave entrance; 2) a path going up the mountain very high climbing many stairs and crossing several bridges back and forth; 3) a path that keeps going straight and the next room is flat along a ridge line; 4) a path that heads south and goes down several stairs until you go back inside leading to the dungeon exit.
The path you want is the cave entrance which is the first choice you'll stumble upon when entering this room. This cave goes into an inner tunnel that is seemingly blocked. To remove the obstacles, step on the special mosaic tile on the floor in a side-room of this tunnel. Then you can continue along the path and back outside. There is a lone chest on the ledge you emerge upon. it holds the Pumice Piece.
The Pumice Piece in the Phoenix Cave is easier to find, but perhaps more difficult to obtain. You will eventually come to a room with a large lava pit. One team has to light 4 lamps, which causes a network of bridges to appear over the lava. The other team can use these bridges while they are active to cross the lava and open the chests floating over the pit. The bridges flash on and off, however, so they are not always visible even though they are there until the lamps gutter out.
The chest with the Pumice Piece is in the furthest northeast corner (up and right) of the lava pit. To get to it I suggest, from the starting point where the team first steps over the lava: 1) Go directly to the right until you can move no more 2) Go up until you come to a stop and can go no further 3) Go right again, but not all the way unless you want the other chest right here 4) Go up a couple tiles before you end up going all the way right; if you're not sure when you need to stop going right and start going up just wait for the bridge to appear leading to the furthest chest
