I am now in the second part of the story - after the war between Cirigoth and the Unicon. I would like to do some leveling up, but it seems as if the locations where I have already killed a boss have no monsters for random incounters. I keep getting killed trying to get into Tyr-Anox so I was hoping to just do some leveling. Is there a good place(s) to do this?
Thanks

Thanks Everlong doesn't really support much leveling up because of the level caps I had to impose due to the nature of the experience curves. Otherwise it would be easy to level up very high too early in the game. In the current version you can usually go about 5 levels over the "expected" level the game is balanced for. Trying to return to old areas won't help you since you are probably going to be far past the maximum level limit before encounters shut off. For the part of the game you're currently in I would suggest trying to fight at Monster Hunter Island, which is the large island south of the East Continent. There are unique but tough monsters there that give significant rewards. You may also just want to try fighting on the East Continent in Fhorestain or south near Revirdok where the outlaw enemies are. Probably more important than leveling up, however, is having current equipment (new stuff is available t all shops after the War and at various intervals in the plot thereafter) and the right strategy.

Well, I don't have money to buy equipment and I don't know any other way to get money than to fight. I currently have a little over 20.000 GP, which is squat when it comes to buying better equipment. I guess I did something wrong to reach this point and have no money. I have tried all kinds of combos of people with the King Dragonfly - he just puts us all to sleep and that is that. When I tried to go to the other entrances they were locked, so I kinda figured I didn't have any choice but to fight him. Just like in the real world - you got to have money - and a way to get it. Oh well - I'll figure something out - just a little frustrated right now. Thanks.

Oh well - I'll figure something out - just a little frustrated right now. Thanks. A good money source is the Battle Arena. Even though the cost for some areas seems high, you often come away with much more if you manage to win. You can also fight there as much as you want. If you haven't been there yet, sail to Isla del Sol off the east coast of the East Continent and dock your ship. The arena is on the north part of the island. I have made some significant changes in the unreleased revision work that will make the arena even more profitable. I also made monsters drop more than double their current GP in the revision but that still may not be enough considering that equipment and weapon prices also increased. For the Dragonfly King equip someone with the White Cape accessory if you got it from one of the chests. This will prevent sleep among other things (it will be important later for resisting Stone). Give it to a White Wizard with the skill "Awaken" and suddenly sleep isn't a problem anymore. You might also be able to forge a Moon Band at the Isla del Sol forge as well (I can't remember if it becomes available later) and this headgear also prevents sleep. The other outposts will always be locked for the rest of the game. When you initially entered Tyr-Anon pass you permanently chose that route and the others close off. They all have the same treasure, just different enemies, puzzles, and bosses. The idea was to add some more replay value. Each time you play the game you can choose a different outpost and explore a new area. This is the only part of the game like this, mostly since it's a lot of work.

Thanks for the help. I went exploring and found Unlucky Jack on the dock in Tiro Amicus and thought that might be my solution, but now I don't find him on the ship so I can't talk to him. Oh well. I will look for the arena. Thank again.

I will look for the arena. Thank again. If you successfully recruited Captain Jack he will appear on your ship outside on the main deck when you put to see. While sailing press the menu button, then go to the prow (front) of the vessel and he should be walking around. He's also a good source of GP though it can take some time to figure out the place he's describing where the treasure is buried.

Thank you again for the information. Going to Casa del Sol helped immensely on the money front. However, and this might be a spoiler, I actually lost money everytime in the arena even though I won the battles, so it is not the best place to earn money in the arena area. I found a dark room that fulfilled that purpose much better. I also checked with the NPC that does the forging, but he requires a weapon that I did not buy (sleeper sword) because I was short on funds earlier in the game and right now I am unable to find a shop that sells it. I will keep looking, but I am curiious if it came off the weapon lists when the shops started offering upgraded equipment. If so, it makes it difficult to use the forger since you can't reach him until after the upgrades. Anyway, you've been a tremendous help and I am really ejoying the game. Thank you again.

It might just be the later areas at the Battle Arena in the current version that are profitable then. If you're good at Blackjack then playing with the Turks in the back room can net you some good GP. Just be careful on betting way too much when you have a perfect or near perfect deal; if you bet too much I programmed the game to make your opponents' hands better and increase your chances of losing. This is so players cannot bet a huge amount when dealt a 21 and be practically guaranteed a huge payout. For the forge, if you don't have lots of the items left or never bought them in the first place, go to Revirdok. It is the big castle city at the south tip of the East Continent. You can generally buy what you need there for forging in addition to current equipment. By the way, did you managed to find Captain Jack aboard your ship?

Yes, I did, thank you. What was amusing for me was I also found Master Miyagi, I had looked for him, but found him on another plane, so I didn't bother looking for him anymore. As far as the blackjack goes, even in a fantasy world I tend to be conservative, so I ended up doing pretty well. My initial bets were always 1000 GP and when I did raise it was usually less than 3000 GP. I found it better just to not raise and then call when the other players raised (if my hand was good enough). Thanks again, I am off to explore some more and then I am going to try and tackle the King Dragonfly again.

Bringing lvl ca. 60s makes the West Tower very, very easy. I found no random encounters and Valkyrie went down all-too-easily. The multiple-enemy skills are too powerful, imho. I can bring in Justin, Vetu, Vixen (with Rahmu), and a healer and mow everything down.

I can bring in Justin, Vetu, Vixen (with Rahmu), and a healer and mow everything down. I agree, and I made some changes in my current revision work to try and address this. Target all spells now do significantly less damage (all skills do) but cost less MP. You can cast them more often with the intent to make use of their mass condition inflicting, but it's going to be much slower to kill enemies using them and thus regular attacks are more favorable for direct damage. Of course, I also drastically lowered enemy HP, so I'll have to see how things work out in my test play and maybe make more changes. The level cap ranges for areas have also been significantly altered to make the spread larger in every area so you don't stop having encounters. I'm starting to have doubts about the exact level thresholds I put in place, however, and will have to also look at this in my play test. Finally, you won't have the MP anymore to burn through skills. I severely decreased the starting MP and rate of gain for all heroes except for the casters, and even they will have less and get more MP slower. Drakeor is the only character who got an increase so his earned dragon spells are more easily put to use. MP restoring items are much more expensive and I might even reduce their effectiveness. The Tent item no longer restores MP, just HP. And lastly, those MP restore beacons before bosses only work once now. It can now longer be sued to mow through enemies and quick level. So if you want to restore MP now, you MUST go to an inn or use items (expensive). Later at the end of the game when skills have to compete with the damage capability of the ultimate weapons, you'll have Boon and Sentinel, so MP shouldn't be a problem at the end-game.

I think healing pots are not realistic and can guess that boss is near.Early MP absorption skill could be better replacement.
