What concerns me about downloading newer versions of Everlong is the whole 'starting from scratch' aspect, and I was wondering if there was any way to make a simple fix to make old saves compatible with newer versions such as a transition between version 3.10 and 3.13 or other versions in the future?

What concerns me about downloading newer versions of Everlong is the whole 'starting from scratch' aspect, and I was wondering if there was any way to make a simple fix to make old saves compatible with newer versions such as a transition between version 3.10 and 3.13 or other versions in the future? Generally, saves will be compatible for any version based on the same RPG Maker engine. Most updates just fix things or add stuff that will become accessible. For example, if you go from a version with the old menu and update to a new version with the custom menu, it won't be enabled automatically, but simply going to the world map will fix that. However, while things may still work, drastic changes will probably be confusing, especially if they involve plot rewrites or tweaking of skills you're already used to. There's no simple fix for making saves 100% compatible. I can't really manipulate save files through the game. Attempting to keep track of and detect the version to make adjustments on a first load in a new version would require too much work and might not be entirely possible. I would suggest sticking with the current version unless there are bugs that prevent you from continuing. If that is the case there's probably a patch that does nothing but fix the errors and won't break anything. Or you can backup your save file and the install package for your current version, then try the newest version with your save and see if things are working for you. If not you can always revert.
