I have been playing v3.22 under WINE on Linux and I have a problem where the program crashes just as the two armies attack each other outside Seraphia. I get the message OLE Error 80004002. I think it is when the first volley of arrows ought to appear (that's what windows does). Any Ideas?
P.S. To test it I did a clean Everlong install and found that the font patch for RM2K3 doesn't want to apply under WINE but the old RM2K one works.

I don't have a linux install on any of my machines right now, so I can't verify anything. The volley of arrows in the Seriaphia sequence are picture files that scroll rapidly. Maybe the coordinate tracking for rendering purposes is going out of acceptable bounds for what WINE expects from the program, but that's just a guess. You would have to go to the WINE website and look up that error code or post on the forums. I can't recall if WINE makes a Windows/Font directory when you install it. I want to say it does, but I cannot recall if they programmed the special menu GUI option present in Windows to Install New Font. If you simply copy and paste this may not even work to fix the fonts in Windows systems. I can't remember if I managed to get fonts working properly last time I tested in linux.

I think I've solved it now. It was to do with an mp3 file being played and the default install of wine on my distro not being able to do so. You're right the lack of GUI option to install the font patch is the problem but the older patch still works. I have posted some setup instructions for Everlong on Linux here: appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19830

I don't know how many players actually come from the Linux side of the computer world, but it's awesome to know somebody has provided them help and assurance.

Playing on I found that the game crashes on Linux just before the Yarthkin and Liquid Flame battles. I think the problem was the SE_Cultists.mp3 file as renaming it to something else stops the crash. Although for some reason the game only crashed after it was supposed to play the file. I think the other mp3s play fine (at least they don't crash the program now I sorted out the WINE mp3 support). Outside the game I can play any of the files fine. Was SE_Cultists created using a different program or something?

I think I might have compressed that mp3 file with an old Fraunhofer codec instead of LAME because of the editing program I was using. Since it requires a license I don't think Linux distributions support decoding it by default, or maybe there's a problem with WINE playback. Try converting the file to WAV then encoding with LAME and see what happens.
