Red chest battles always give me XP regardless of my current levels, so that seems normal to me. I reached level 96-97 from Triangle Mountain though.
Strange things with the illusionary height blocks: first time i moved them all in the right place, they immediately all moved up one notch, causing me to have to do it again. As for reaching the Dispel chest, I couldn't do the first jump the first time around even though I had used a short block.

But it leveled me up to from 95 to 98 which is a little bit high IMO, considering the cap is level 95... I just beat the Phoenix Cave (didn't kill the Phoenix yet though, didn't know it cast Reversal so my party died. ) And it is my least favourite dungeon so far. The puzzles are amazing and fun but the trap doors. I hated them. Since I was over the level cap and there were no red chests I didn't fight anything but them. And their Demolish and high HP made me want to suicide. Plus there were 20 of them in the whole cave. At least I got to level 99 with them.

Here's a goofy one: Are Contra's corset and circlet supposed to be equipped on the arm? On a side note, Khaer Magnus is now recorded.

OK, adding to the list: -Glen's ATB meter stopped dead for several turns twice, even though he was wearing the God Hand shield. This was before I beat the game so it isn't due to the Continue+ feature. -I had to get back inside the Aetherius before I could get the CMS to work again on Continue+. Simply taking the teleport back down or walking through the entrance did not fix it. -Seriously, are Katana Souls immortal? I spent much less time defeating a King Behemoth than I did helplessly trying to kill one of them. Even though Singularity cancels Meditate's effects pretty fast... When the ATB meters stop, it's a dreaded random engine bug. This used to happen more often, but I changed some code and it seems to occur less frequently. It's a serious threat in long battles like against Khaer Magnus or Ultimate Weapon. Losing a character for the rest of the battle is almost guaranteed failure. Rotten after spending so long in the those fights. The CMS can be uncooperative sometimes when being deactivated and then reactivated. Usually the world map will fix it, but you did the smart thing and kept trying. I'll look into the Continue+ code. Katana Souls are tough, but they should not take nearly as long as King Behemoths, who have vastly more HP. Except I'm looking at the database and they accidentally have an extra zero...giving them 990k HP. Whoops. Yes, you must definitely cancel Meditate immediately. They are not worth your time given this error, though.

And I think I have one more. I just started my aspects quest, and I wanted to go to Ship Graveyard first. Since I did Triangle Mountain before, my levels were all 95. I saw a red chest, it had normal monsters plus 2 mimics in it. When the battle finished, my party went up to level 98! The battle gave me 40000 exp... Should that have happened? The red chests are battles you can fight and gain EXP from regardless of average level of the dungeon. But that is an engine bug if you gained three levels from that small amount of experience. RPG Maker is so lovely.

Engine bug processing all the events and keeping track of their coordinates. Not much to do but rearrange or reset. Sounds like in this case the engine thought you were still at the base of the blocks and pressed the action button, causing them to move. If a jump doesn't work, the coordinates being stored aren't correct because the engine screwed up tracking them.

If you unload on the Trap Doors with everything you have, you should be able to kill them quickly before you lose one or two party members. They drop a Tent each time, so don't worry about MP costs. They're also supposed to be worth good GP so even at high levels they aren't worthless. Unfortunately, unlike FF4 which has a wall spell to bounce Demolish back, the RPG Maker reflect ability is bugged and causes crash. The idea was for players to be able to exploit this for easy wins. I'm glad you at least enjoyed the puzzles. Any suggestions on making the Trap Doors seem more worthwhile to high level players?

Well no, I unloaded him with everything I have and it still cost me 2 party members but they did drop 25.000 gold and tents but I already had 95 of them and tents only restore HP. Luckily I had Vixen's Sentinel with Gold Hairpin in one party of mine so it made it much easier. Yeah the puzzles were fun, but not frustrating. I especially liked the one where the bridges and chests disappear and appear in turn. And won the Phoenix on my 2nd try now that I knew he had reversal!

I forgot I changed Tens to no longer recover MP. I'll need to change the item they drop to something that does. Maybe a Miracle would be a suitable reward when you consider these battles are not repeatable.

I just did Odine's riddles and have about like 5 ribbons and Ziedrichs and got 5 more Miracles and Speed Sources. BTW What are the 2 monsters that drop Speed Sources?

Okay sir! Now optional dungeons *sigh* and then to Atlantis! I want to continue the main storyline but I'm a completionist. And I couldn't get the crimson beherit from Calbrenda. I beat both Cals but not the Brendas. I should have watched treasonwall's video earlier and used hit all attacks... BTW I must say this, I LOVE Gungnir's animation for some reason.

Most of the spear animations are so simple, it's nice to see and hear one that is more complex.

treasonwall, do you have a save from when you were in the aspect dungeons but still getting encounters past level 95?
The code seems to check out, except for one possibility. There's an extra adjust that should only occur in Pullus Unda when you're searching for lost party members, but if a variable didn't reset it could be overriding the normal code.
