I just switched from my half-working piece of junk to a new, much more powerful windows 7 laptop. I wanted to check whether my save files still worked but, I can't even do that since none of the keys do anything except for F4. Reinstalling the game made no difference. What is going on?

I've heard of controls ceasing to respond during gameplay, but this is different. In either case, this is completely beyond my ability to control. There's a problem with the system interfacing with the RPG Maker engine. It's not necessarily Windows 7. If I had to guess, there might be some software running on your laptop, probably a hotkey manager, that is interfering with keyboard input. Try turning off any of these extra programs. Attempt to use the alternate keys listed on the website in the Controls section. Try using Al-Tab to switch between the desktop and back to the game after it has started running.

Alright, none of these solutions worked, but completely uninstalling the game, restarting the computer an then reinstalling the game seems to have. on the other hand, the former font is back and the resolution looks wrong as hell, so I'm gonna see if I can configure that better.
