Woah! an update! I just started playing this game (had it in my backlog for 5 years) and I guess im going to hold out a little bit longer until you release this update. So nice to see when a developer does something out of love such as this. With all the experience you must have acquired in the past years Im certain a commercial title on a newer rpg maker by you would be something great, Thanks for the encouragement! The new release of Everlong wont't be ready this year, just too much going on during the holidays. I'll have plenty of free time in January to wrap the final additions and play test. I'm now hoping for no later than the end of January, but as always we'll see!

And I am holding on for the new version as well. No pressure though DJC. If you can release it by January, great, if you can't, we can wait for it. I know I would wait for a long time for this.

Is there now a way to have more than 9999 damage and also can you remaster the music soundtracks?

Is there now a way to have more than 9999 damage and also can you remaster the music soundtracks? There is a way to break the damage limit, which I wanted to use but could not. I would require another Dynrpg plugin or patch that gives more control over monster death/battle end events to make it work correctly, but that doesn't exist to my knowledge. I don't see a point in remastering the music since it's still mostly MIDI files, a dated format that I cannot improve much. Converting to a different file format would only serve to massively increase file size.

DJC, what is this new version about? Fixing some critical bugs and long standing gameplay issues, like battle speed and encounter rate/experience caps. Then I got carried away and started an overhaul, but abandoned that once RPG Maker 2003 was officially released with an English translation, followed by the new RPG Maker MV. Now I'm just adding fun additions, many of them player requested or things only now possible with DynRPG plugins.

Any news on a january update? Might turn into a February update depending on how many of the proposed additions I decide to include. I really need to do a complete play-through too before releasing. I probably could have finished this month except I had a work project that's taking away 50 hours of my time. Currently I'm almost done making Brad and Cirus playable characters at the end of the game. This took quite a bit of work, both in mechanics and story changes. Nothing else I have planned will be so involved, though a few things could require time through sheer repetitiveness. I thought about using rpgmaker.net's game blog to post updates if people are interested.

Oooh, interesting. You could post on rpgmaker.net, I would definitely read, even though I wouldn't comment since I don't have an account. Whether January, February, March, whenever it is ready, we are ready to play it.

You don't need an account to read the blog, but I'd appreciate more reviews. That does require an account, but signing up is quick. Players might want to wait and review the new version in the future, though.

I am definitely not a good reviewer, but I could try reviewing the new version. No promises though. And thanks for the link
