Hello fellow gamers , its been a while since I lasted played this game , and was In the need for a rpg game .. here Is my issue.. I use a pc controller with the xpadder mapping program . it works great with all my other games . from emulators to steam games and also MMOs.. I downloaded the everlong game just yesterday with the newest patch 3.26 I think it is from the site..
now I also tried the controls from the actual keyboard . and most the functions was not working , a system reboot fixed most of that. directional keys work and F4 to change window mode.. and most of the command buttons works also.. except for confirm and cancel etc , its the opposite of what I mapped it as , actually the cancel button works when blank .lol { no assign to that button}
When I tried to switch them around the button to make the confirm button on the bottom {x button on most controllers}its like it has a mind of its own , no matter were I assign the enter {action button it still only works with the right button }
I did also try all the alternative keys
usually you want to fight and confirm with the bottom button of a controller and either or of the other buttons to cancel .I have used items when I didn't want to and didn't save the game sometimes getting them confused.. any ideas will be grateful.. also is there a map in the game or run button ... if so which key apply s ?Thanks

Hi there, If you're using a controller, I cannot offer much advice. The RPG Maker 2003 engine is a decade old at this point, and was probably not designed to support controllers or remapping of keys. I've heard of strange errors just using the normal keyboard assignments, so I'm not surprised you're having additional issues with a controller. You could try running the executable in compatibility mode for an older OS version. Go to the Everlong folder wherever you installed the game, right click on RPG_RT.exe, and select properties. There's a compatibility tab in there that has some options, but I'm uncertain if that will have an effect. The majority of game areas do not have a mini-map to guide the player. At the time there were no plugins for this feature, and it was otherwise tedious to create. There is also no run button, as the player character is by default at the engine's "running" speed.
